Hans Peter Hansen: born 11/3/1864 in Denmark was appointed to the BSA Police on 1-11-1895 and accepted into the SAP on 1-6-1921. He was murdered on duty in Claremont Cape Town and had a big funeral where his casket covered with the Union Jack and topped by his helmet was paraded through the town. BSAP 1905-1915 Frank Neville: I am trying to find any information on my Great Grandfather Frank Neville Ex 7th Dragoon Guards, I believe he served with the BSAP 1905 -1915 or thereabouts. He lived in the Bulalima -Mangwe area and was in some way associated with Bulala Taylor / Avoca Farm. P . Commerford 3319 G'day all, I'm researching my Grandfather's service with the BSAP. His attested date is 01/01/1933 and I know he served until at least 1951 as he was presented a long service medal in 1951. The only confirmed rank I have for Pierce is Staff First Class Sergeant. Herbert George Page BSAP Salisbury: I am seeking any information about my grandfather, who served in BSAP from around 1914-1922. He was killed on duty whilst riding on patrol in the region of Gun Kopje. I do not have the exact date of the funeral in 1922, but the cortege left from Salisbury General Hospital to the cemetery. I have a newspaper article describing the event and the funeral which was well supported as he was popular in the district. I especially would like to know if anyone in Harare could locate the grave for me, but any information will be welcome. There is a list of over 25 prominent funeral attendees. 1067 Hancock, Oscar: Greetings, I am searching for any information regarding my Grandfather, Oscar Hancock. Oscar Hancock was attested on 08/05/1909 and was discharged on his own request on 13/11/1919. Please could I have any pertinent information about his service record ie. Whathat were the joining criteria then, Where was he stationed? What rank did he attain? Any next of kin listed ? I would be grateful for any info and photo,s if possible. John Hugh Macdonald -1904 Reserve Force: John H Macdonald joined the reserve force in 1904 in Matabeleland, I believe he was either South African or Scottish..This is as much information I was able to find at the archives in Harare. Bechuanaland Border Police 1870-1894: John Francis Somers served in the Bechuanaland Border Police , which according to info recently obtained was an Imperial Unit raised by Lt Colonel F. Carrington, South Wales Borderers, with a strengh of 500. He could have participated in the First Matabele War of 1893 and would then received the British South Africa Company Medal 1893. He died at the age of 46 drowning in the Hartsriver neat Taung in the Northern Cape IN 1894, at that time under British control.I am not sure when he first came to South Africa but at the time of his death he was a detective in the Bechuanaland BoRder Police. He married a lady, Anna Gans in 15 November 1886 by a missionary, John Brown of the London Missionary Society(LMS)in a town TAUNG not far from Vryburg. Will appreciate any help regarding in obtaining more info regarding his military record, burial etc. I believe from our Archives in Cape Town that the military records of the British soldiers would of been taken back to England.

Dave was an armament apprentice of the 91st Entry of RAF Halton Aircraft Apprentices (Jan 1959 - Dec 1960) and is known to have later served (No 8099) in the BSAP. Chris Morgan - ex - RLI 1961-64: Looking for Chris Morgan - ex RLI 1961 - 64 I believe he joined the BSAP soon after. I do know a Chris Morgan was shot (accidentally) but cannot find anyone that knew him to say if he was my Chris with a photo or personal news. Please help.
